HeSuVi + HyperX Cloud II
The Cloud II’s built-in USB surround vs HeSuVi’s free virtualization — which to use, and how to set it up right.
Cloud II USB Surround vs HeSuVi: Pick One
The Cloud II’s USB dongle has its own 7.1 button — do not run it together with HeSuVi’s virtualization. You have two clean options:
- Option A (recommended): plug the Cloud II via 3.5mm directly, disable the dongle’s surround, and let HeSuVi do virtualization with far more profile choice.
- Option B: use the dongle’s 7.1 and skip HeSuVi’s surround — but still use HeSuVi’s EQ/AutoEq, which is the bigger upgrade.
Recommended HRIR Profile
- DTS: forward and punchy — suits the Cloud II’s warm tuning.
- GSX: if you want drier, more precise imaging for competitive play.
EQ Notes
The Cloud II is warm with rolled-off treble detail. Apply its AutoEq profile, then a gentle 3–5 kHz lift (+2–3 dB) to bring footsteps forward. Do not over-boost bass — the Cloud II already has plenty.
Mic and Comfort
The Cloud II’s detachable mic is unaffected by HeSuVi (it processes output only). One less thing to configure.
Setup Checklist
Cloud II checklist: 3.5mm direct + HeSuVi virtualization (or dongle 7.1 + HeSuVi EQ — never both surrounds), DTS/GSX profile, AutoEq + presence lift. No amp needed.
